Qualifications to Receive Deep Discounts

The mission of WellPet Humane is to offer low-cost medical services to those pets whose owners are experiencing financial difficulty along with stray or abandoned pets.
Our client service staff will set fees based on financial capacity. In 2010 WellPet Humane extended $102,319 in discounted veterinary services.

Category 1 – Income Qualifications for Discounts
Clients, except those seeking spay/neuter or vaccines at our wellness clinic (these services are always discounted) will be seen on a priority basis.
The following are automatic qualifications:

  • Social Security
  • Students (with ID card)
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicaid
  • Unemployment
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Home Energy Assistance Program
  • Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
  • Military

Category 2 – Veterinary Referrals
Pets referred by area veterinarians for “affordability” reasons.
Category 3 – Humane Rescues (Rescue Groups and Pet lovers who find dogs and cats on the street)
Category 4 - Financial Hardships
People experiencing financial hardships that don’t qualify under Category 1 and are unable to afford pet medical services. Determined on a case by case basis.
Category 5 - General Public
If WellPet Treatment Center does not fill it’s daily schedule with clients from Category 1 through 4, than the general public will be scheduled and charged reasonable and customary veterinary fees. All pet owners can walk-in and use the Wellness Center Tuesday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed 12 to 1 for lunch)
