Dog Wellness Profiles

Please be advised these are NOT packages. These are only recommended services for your pet’s lifestyle. WellPet Humane currently does not offer any type of wellness packages.

One of our most common (and favorite) type of visit to our Wellness Center is the new puppy visit! This visit is for any puppy starting at 8 weeks old, to under 6 months old who may or may not have had a visit to a veterinarian before. Here our medical staff team will lay the foundation for your puppy’s health, which will continue into their adult lives. Here are our recommended services for a first puppy visit:

Service Price What is it?
New Puppy Exam $39.95 Your puppy will be examined head to tail by a licensed veterinarian. Charge is only required with pets under a year old, or a pet on their first ever visit with us.
Da2ppv Vaccination $19.45 This vacccine contains protection against distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza and parvovirus. Upper respiratory and GI viruses that are highly contagious and life threatening in teh dog population. It is given as early as 8 weeks of age, then a booster is given every 3-4 weeks until the dog is 16 weeks old. It is then re-administered every 1 to 3 years.
Fecal Test $12.79 This test will determine whether your pet has any intestinal parasites present. Your pet’s fecal center is sent to a lab where these testing procedures are done. A member of medical staff will be in touch with you within 72 hours with the result.
Strongid Dewormer Starts at $12.75 (price is dependent on weight of pet.) Most puppies and kittens are born with internal parasites or worms derived from their mother. these parasites may injure the pet and pose health risks to children who might eat soil contaminated with the feces of infected dogs or cats. Strongid is also used to treat hookworms, pinworms, and roundworms. This medication is given orally, and will need to be repeated 2 weeks after the initial dose. A second dose will be given to you at your appointment.
Heartworm and Flea Prevention Based on product and weight WellPet highly recommends that all dogs are on persistent, yearly, heartworm and flea medications. Heartworms are an epidemic in the south; they are contracted by your pet being bitten by a mosquito– a insect that does not die out at any time during the year in the state of Georgia. Flea medications are just as important, as they too are rampant and, if not treated, can cause serious skin allergies in pets. To determine which preventative is right for your baby, please speak to your technician.

If your baby is constantly on the go, this may be the right profile for you! These active pups like to socialize, be pampered, and may take a little vacation at a boarding facility while the parents are away. This Wellness Profile is recommended for all dogs over 16 weeks old, who enjoys ruffing it up at the dog park, getting fabulous at the groomer, and may be boarded or taken to daycare from time to time.
