Cat Wellness Profiles

Congratulations on your new (adorable) addition! Prepare for your cell phone to be filled with so many pictures that you could create a whole website of memes. This visit is for any kitten starting at 8 weeks old, to under 6 months old who may or may not have had a visit to a veterinarian before. Here our medical staff team will lay the foundation for your kitten’s health, which will continue into their adult lives. Here are our recommended services for a first kitten visit:

Service Price What is it?
New Kitten Exam $55.48 Your kitten will be examined head to tail by a licensed veterinarian. Charge is only required with pets under a year old, or a pet on their first ever visit with us.
FVRCP Vaccination $20.00 This vaccination protects against Feline distemper (panleukopenia virus) (FPV) feline viral rhinotracheitis, and calcivirusis. Three highly contagious and life-threatening viral diseases in the cat population. It is given as soon as 8 weeks of age, then a booster is given every 3-4 weeks until the kitten is 16 weeks old. It is then administered every 1 to 3 years.
FeLV Vaccination $25.00 Feline leukemia is a virus born cancer that cats pas to eachother via direct and indirect contact (saliva, blood etc.) WellPet Humane recommends vaccinating for feline leukemia for all outdoor and indoor/outdoor cats. This vaccination can be given as soon as 11 weeks or orlder and must be boosted 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination. It is then repeated yearly.
Fecal Test $20.00 This test will determine whether your pet has any intestinal parasites present. Your pet’s fecal center is sent to a lab where these testing procedures are done. A member of medical staff will be in touch with you within 72 hours with the result.
Strongid Dewormer $15.00 Most puppies and kittens are born with internal parasites or worms derived from their mother. these parasites may injure the pet and pose health risks to children who might eat soil contaminated with the feces of infected dogs or cats. Strongid is also used to treat hookworms, pinworms, and roundworms. This medication is given orally, and will need to be repeated 2 weeks after the initial dose. A second dose will be given to you at your appointment.
Heartworm and Flea Prevention Based on product and weight WellPet highly recommends REVOLUTION for our feline clients! Revolution protects cats against fleas, heartworms, roundworms, hookworms, and ear mites. Revolution can be used on cats and kittens over 8 weeks of age.
Combo Test $30.00 This is a simple blood test that is used to determine if a cat is FIV/FLV positive.Feline leukemia is a virus born cancer that cats pas to each other via direct and indirect contact (saliva, blood etc.), while Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) can be contracted the same way. This test is highly recommended for families bringing stray cats into their home, especially if they will be socializing with other feline members of the family.

Let’s face it; some cats just do not want to stay inside! Our adventurer profile is for free spirited cat who feels their “meow” is more similar to a “ROAR!” Who comes and goes as they please, or just enjoys spending time roaming about and surveying the neighborhood or backyard. This is recommended for cats 16 weeks or older who like to adventure outside the house walls.

If your cat companion feels “where they fits, they sits” is best in a cardboard box, their (or your) bed, or the computer keyboard, you’ll want to consider our homebody Wellness Profile. This profile is recommended for cats over 16 weeks old who don’t like to (or are not allowed to) venture outside, and would much rather stay in the great indoors and spend time with you, their food bringer.

We all know that cats can live to be up to teens… or even in their twenties (in human years!) and our goal is to see that they reach and enjoy their senior years of life. Basic Wellness Bloodwork (includes heartworm test) $90.60 This test checks a urine sample and includes blood tests called a CBC and chemistry. The CBC (complete blood count) and chemistry profile is an important component of wellness bloodwork that should be performed during your pet’s regular check ups. A CBC and chemistry profile can help determine the state of your pet’s health and diagnose illness or injury.
